Description
Pacific Smiles Group was the first dental corporate and it continues to lead the field with many and varied ways to solve the delivery of dental services to the general public. Founded in the Hunter Valley near Newcastle, the company is now the largest owner and operator of Dental Care Centres and Dental and Eye Care Centres in Australia.
One of the founding PSG Dental Centres was a 3-surgery set-up at Dora Creek, a small village on the western side of Lake Macquarie, 70 minutes drive north of Sydney. Although the centre had been established for over 30 years, its growth had been restricted by its location. Since the neighbouring township of Morisset is strategically located on the F3 freeway, which connects Sydney to the Central Coast and Newcastle, and is on the main northern rail link, it had been chosen to be the main commercial centre servicing the surrounding district.
Pacific Smiles saw the opportunity to move to this regional growth centre and expand the existing centre. There was another opportunity in the real estate potential. Although there were big developments planned, there was no suitable space for a dental centre. Land in the centre of town had been rezoned and there was a possibility to buy a site and provide a purpose-built centre, an ideal ‘greenfield’ development. Read more by visiting ‘Article Library’…
On his new building and surgery design, Pacific Smiles Group CEO Mr John Gibbs says:
“After much planning, we are thrilled to open our new centre, which offers patients an unprecedented level of comfort plus the convenience of a dedicated patient car park and a lift for easy access. To be able to visit the dentist and the optometrist in one dedicated facility is a great benefit in today’s busy society.”
