Dentists practising in country regions of Australia have long had a better deal than city dentists. A shortage of dentists outside metropolitan regions has meant that any dentist setting up in a country town will have a busy practice as well as an enviable life style. This is doubly so in the coastal towns that have been receiving the influx of seachanging baby boomers. The drawback for these towns is the distance to the services available only in the capital cities.

On his new building and surgery design, Dr Mario Bortolanza says:

"I'm pleased that my new surgery is up and running. I'd like to thank the many people involved in the team effort. It was a major project, but an important phase for myself. I wanted a practice that would suit the way I work and I now enjoy my new surrounds as do my patients. I've never been busier and now with extra rooms, I even have the need for another dentist!."
