Description
Levitch Design Associates were invited to design a room as a part of the Designer Precinct at the 2008 HIA Home Show. The Home Show, held in Sydney's Darling Harbour, is a must see event for anyone who is decorating, renovating or likes to keep up to date with the latest residential interior trends.
LDA exhibited one room as a part of the Home Beautiful Designer Series III. Each of the rooms had a different theme and showcased ways to make the most out of colour and space, while demonstrating the numerous ways to incorporate design into renovation projects. The theme for the show was 'Luxury'. LDA designers Anne Levitch and Nicky Baruch chose to design a bedroom in which to explore the theme...
They began with the origin and meaning of the word LUXURY: The origin is from the Latin "LUXURIA" & "LUXUS" meaning "EXCESS". "A state of great comfort and extravagant living". "An inessential but desirable item".
On bedroom design, interior designers Anne Levitch and Nicky Baruch say:
"Our bedroom is a place for languorous repose and indulgence of the senses, enveloping the inhabitants in a calm cocoon of warmth and sensuality. It is a space in which to linger, to dream, to love. It beckons - Come in, relax and forget the world..."
Audiences responded, awarding LDA's bedroom design with the Home Beautiful People's Choice Award for Best Room Design.
