 LDA Donates to International School of Colour and Design

As a gesture to the design community, LDA's Studio Manager Sammy Collins and Annette recently co-ordinated the donation of surplus materials and finishes to the International School of Colour and Design (ISCD).

Australian Osseointegration Society
7th Biennial Conference - Gold Coast
LDA will be exhibiting at the 2009 Australian Oseointegration Society (AOS) 7th Biennial Conference to be held at the Gold Coast, Queensland from 4 – 7 November 2009.
The Society brings together people at the forefront of Implant Dentistry in Australia. Members include dentists, dental technicians, hygienists, industry representatives and allied health personnel with the common aim of improving the standards and outcomes of implant dentistry by sharing and discussing information in an open learning environment.
The conference is dedicated to “Staying Between the Flags” with the aim of fostering safe clinical practice by promoting understanding the benefits and limitations of various clinical techniques.
It looks to be an exciting three days, filled with outstanding speakers providing an authoritative scientific and clinical basis for the treatment of patients, as well as addressing new innovations and research.

NZ Dental Expo - 2009: LDA Guest Speakers
Anne and Genna Levitch were recently selected as guest speakers during the NZ Dental Exhibition in Auckland June 2009.
Anne and Genna held one-hour seminars on Dental Practice Design & Presentation which provided complimentary CPD points for attendees. The seminars were developed to give valuable insight into the Design Process, Building Process and the Marketing of Professional Dental Services.
The NZ June Dental Expo was a well attended event, drawing record numbers and showcasing excellence in dentistry. It was an exciting exhibition to be apart of and the LDA team looks forward to attending the bi-annual event in future years.

Practical Aesthetics Revisited
One-Day Workshops with Dr David Roessler
LDA was pleased to support a seminar series presented by Sydney Prosthodontist Dr David Roesseler of The Dental Specialists. Five years ago, David presented the latest, the greatest and the best of composite resin and ceramics. This course explored what has been proved, improved and disproved since then.
Tooth Coloured Restorations that work. The course provided practitioners with practical solutions enabling better clinical outcomes to be achieved. There are so many new products on the market, it’s almost impossible to decide what to use and when to use it. This course was designed to teach which materials and what techniques will help practitioners deliver great results the first time. Numerous clinical examples and support from literature translated what works and how it can be applied.
The seminar series began in February and travelled throughout Australasia: Perth, Brisbane, Christchurch, Auckland New Zealand, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.

Course in NZ – A Great Success!
Levitch Design Associates were invited by the Dental Advisory Committee of The University of Auckland to conduct an intensive one-day practice design course. Dr Genna Levitch and Anne Levitch, LDA’s Directors, guided dentists through the design process for new rooms and the renovation of existing premises, providing assistance with how to best utilise and market the resultant practice.
The course focused on the power of the surrounding environment and the ability to directly influence patients’ perceptions. From finding the right location and establishing budgets through to space planning and clinical ergonomics, the day provided great insight into managing both the Design Process and the Building Process.
Drawing on over 25 years experience in design services and design management, Anne and Genna Levitch provided tips and identified traps, culminating with the importance of Marketing Professional Services.
“Feedback from those attending was excellent”, says Niel Ewart of the Dental Advisory Committee, University of Auckland. “The course content was excellent, and covered so many aspects of design that we as lay people had never heard about. It certainly highlighted the need to engage design professionals … from the very outset.”

Anne and Genna Levitch recently presented a One-Day Course 'Dental Practice Presentation & Design' held at the University of Auckland, NZ.
The course assisted dentists with the design of new rooms and the renovation of existing premises. It taught how to best utilise and market the resultant practice.
The factors / parameters relative to a new practice fit-out also relate to the refurbishment of an existing practice. The principles of functionality, and aesthetics apply to all healthcare facilites, new or existing. Existing practices all have differing requirements to upgrade, depending on their current state. It is best to challenge a facility from the core up, if money is to be spent in upgrading. It is easy to ‘waste’ money by trying to ‘save’ money in this regard.

Anne Levitch a Guest Judge - Design Institute of Australia (DIA) Graduate of the Year Awards 2008 and 2009.
Anne Levitch is a Fellow of the DIA Board. She has been invited to share her design experience and knowledge as a guest judge on the 2008 and 2009 panels.
The GOTYA Awards supports and promotes young designers. LDA welcomes opportunities to contribute and grow the design community within Australia.

LDA Winner at the HIA Homeshow 2008
Levitch Design Associates were invited to design a room as a part of the Designer Precinct at the 2008 HIA Home Show. The Home Show, held in Sydney's Darling Harbour, is a must see event for anyone who is decorating, renovating or likes to keep up to date with the latest residential interior trends.
LDA exhibited one room as a part of the Home Beautiful Designer Series III. Each of the rooms had a different theme and showcased ways to make the most out of colour and space, while demonstrating the numerous ways to incorporate design into renovation projects. The theme for the show was 'Luxury'. LDA designers Anne Levitch and Nicky Baruch chose to design a bedroom in which to explore the theme...
Audiences responded, awarding LDA's bedroom design with the Home Beautiful People's Choice Award for Best Room Design.

National Print Awards 2007
A professional finish to practice business tools delivers a level of sophistication to your communications. When Dr Neena Bhandari branded her practice Platinum Dental Care, she worked with LDA’s Graphics team to create the necessary tools to help her staff perform at their best and present the quality of her service. Working closely with Neena and practice manager Heather Cassar, the team developed:
- A stationery suite
: Business Cards, With Comps, Letterhead & Envelopes);
- Practice opening and relocation marketing flyers;
- Peronalised appointment reminder cards;
- A4 presentation folder for treatment plan presentation;
- Practice brochure for case conversion and referrals;
- Medical history forms and patient record update cards.
A one-colour process was chosen to minimise printing costs, with subtle spot UV varnish finish on the patient impact tools – business cards and presentation folder. A silver matte on the reverse side of the letterhead and with comps delivered a further reference to quality of care.
The final printed result was awarded winner of the ‘One Colour Print’ category in the Print Awards 2007.
