Title Issue Overview
1110 Hills Dental Design - Pennant Hills, NSW

Sep / Oct 2011 Levitch Design Associates (LDA) had designed one of the practices Dr Poornima Srinavas had previously worked in. She loved what they had achieved in space planning, surgery layout, colours, and finishes.

The Hills’ demographic could be described as family oriented, educated and motivated so Dr Srinavas chose the name “Hills Dental Design” as she wanted to emphasise the customised nature of the dentistry offered. The LDA marketing department then created a striking logo incorporating the name and a tagline that articulated what the aspirational public personally want from dentistry: “Confidence, Grace and Style”. It is also a short hand way of describing Dr Srinavas and the practice.

1108 Cairns Square Dental - Cairns QLD

Jul / Aug 2011 Finding the right location is bad enough, then you have to negotiate with a landlord who takes fewer prisoners than Attila the Hun. To balance this situation, Dr Daniel Richards called Levitch Design Associates (LDA) and asked if Genna Levitch would look after his interests.

Dr Richard’s preparation and planning has paid off. By May 2011, he was fully booked. This is a fantastic achievement considering the floods, cyclones and drop in tourists that have impacted Queensland.

1106 Sapphire Dental Care - Merimbula NSW

May / Jun 2011 The problem, as in many towns, was a lack of alternatives. Dr Craig Newman contacted Levitch Design Associates (LDA) to discuss how a residential conversion could be implemented. As luck would have it, three separate commercial developments suddenly commenced construction and he asked LDA to help assess these as well.

Anne and Genna Levitch analysed the floor plans for each one then flew to Merimbula and spent a day investigating each site. Each commercial building had its own strengths but they identified onsite car parking facilities as the differentiating factor between the sites.

1106 Norwest Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery - Bella Vista NSW

Jul / Sep 2011 It can be difficult for a practitioner grounded in science to appreciate the value of practice aesthetics, but for patients aesthetics provide a visual shortcut that tells them all they need to know. While many general practices survive without design input, it’s almost impossible to do so in an area where aesthetics count.

Plastic surgery, for instance, unites the artistic sensibility of the practitioner with the delicate clinical skills they have learned and developed. Art and science are united!

When Dr Gavin Sandercoe first met with us at Levitch Design Associates to talk about setting up rooms, his aesthetic sensibility was immediately evident.

1104 Invisalign Centre - Bondi Junction NSW

Mar / Apr 2011 The Invisalign Centre in Sydney’s Bondi Junction is a unique concept in the world today and its success or otherwise is being watched from far and wide. The role of the facility is to help patients find out all about Invisalign and whether or not they are candidates for treatment.

“Based on the scale of the project and its ultimate use as a dental facility, we went in search of specialist help to achieve the results we were looking for. This search ultimately led us to Levitch Design Associates who have both an excellent reputation as innovators and market leaders as well as core skills in the exact areas we required.”

1102 Bill Diebert Dental - Terrigal NSW

Jan / Feb 2011 The finishes within the practice were chosen based on the practitioner’s personal preferences. “I specifically wanted a nice and clean finish, but wanted to avoid the typical surgery look of marble, brass and glass,” Dr Diebert explained. The result is a spacious, clean and well-lit practice, where each surgery benefits from plentiful natural light via windows and glass doors that open onto a small courtyard.

1012 The Perio Group - Glen Iris VIC

Nov / Dec 2010 Finding the perfect site for your new practice can be difficult and in the case of specialist periodontist Andrei Locke, the search lasted for almost 3 years. Looking at all types of property, from residential to retail and office space, Dr Locke finally found the perfect site in the form of the old Festival Records recording studio in Glen Iris, Melbourne.

1010 Waverley Endodontics - Glen Waverley VIC

Sep / Oct 2010 “I’d been looking at various sites, but I had no idea about the costs associated with setting up a new practice and how to assess the suitability of one site over another,” he said. “I found talking with Genna Levitch from Levitch Design Associates (LDA), who has extensive experience in the design and construction of dental premises, opened my eyes to the costs associated with setting up a new practice and how to evaluate site suitability. His insight was invaluable”.

1008 Collins Street Periodontics - Melbourne VIC

Jul / Aug 2010 Loaded with ideas and sketches, he approached Levitch Design Associates (LDA) to make his vision a reality. He spoke with other architects but decided on LDA due to their experience and track record.

“I always wanted a dental architect,” he said. “I wanted someone who I was confident with; someone who could take me through the whole process. I checked out LDA’s work at local practices and they had recently completed another surgery within the building I was looking at. That dentist gave me his personal recommendation to work with them.”

1006 Malvern Endodontics - Malvern VICourne VIC

May / Jun 2010 “In all aspects of the design and construction of the practice, we wanted to do it right from the word go,” he said. “This led us to commission Levitch Design Associates to design the project. We didn’t look at anyone else - we just went straight to the best! Levitch has a great name and a great reputation and they’d designed one of the practices we’d worked in before which worked very well.

1002 Dental Essentials - Kingaroy QLD

Jan / Feb 2010 The husband and wife team have been practising in Kingaroy for some time, with Jonathan establishing a small one-chair surgery in a local shopping centre and Phuong working at the public dental clinic of the local hospital.

“We’ve been working towards setting up our first practice together for a while now,” Dr Phuong Pye said. “We bought some land a few years ago and let it sit while we built up the patient base and cashflow at the other surgery until we considered the time was right.

1 PSG Dental & Eye Care - Rutherford

Jul / Aug 2009 The attraction of shopping centres is the exposure to the enormous volume of passing trade, central location and easy parking. Levitch Design Associates were commissioned to design a dental and eye care centre. The site came with some problems, including a change to the floor level of about a metre in the middle of the once multi-tenanted premises. LDA recommended the installation of a raised floor, as change in internally levels is very hard to treat with ramps or stairs without loosing substantial space.

0912 Desai Paediatrics - Balwyn VIC

Nov / Dec 2009 Before commissioning any design specialists, Mala and Dilip had researched many featured surgeries around Australia. “We’d seen a lot of Levitch Design Associates’ work in past editions of Australasian Dental Practice and really liked what we saw,” Dr Desai said. “Dilip and I wanted someone who could manage the whole architectural and interior project and knew what they were doing. We are both busy with work and our family and didn’t have the time to fully devote to the building process.

0912 BMA House - Sydney NSW

Nov / Dec 2009 Drs Shipper and Heffernan started their search for the right location for their new practice in the Sydney CBD in late 2007. “We started to look around and thought about leasing, but given the amount you need to invest in a fit-out, we decided to buy premises,” Dr Heffernan said. “We were told that it would be difficult to find what we were looking for but in January 2008, we managed to find what has turned out to be the ideal site.

0910 Lifetime Dental Care - Perth WA

Sep / Oct 2009 Anne was very open to discussing our own ideas about what we wanted to do with the property as well as offering her own invaluable knowledge and experience. We loved the deco style of the building, which we wanted to retain while also modernising it. We wanted more treatment rooms than the old practice and we wanted it all to flow properly. Anne took all of that on board.

0904 Signature Dental - Perth WA

Mar / Apr 2009 A South Perth dental surgery which literally attracts patients from across Australia and around the world has had a style makeover in keeping with the high quality of dental care on offer.

After renting from a fellow orthodontist’s city practice for several years, they finally found the ideal premises to relocate to and it happened to be right next door.
